‘Can’t Be Trusted’: Sen. Adam Schiff Demands Resignations Of Trump Scandal Figures

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is calling on the key figures at the heart of the Trump administration’s group messaging scandal to resign ― and if they won’t go on their own, he said President Donald Trump should fire them.

“Beyond negligent, they’re just arrogant and feel they can do whatever they want,” he told the MeidasTouch Network. “There’s no accountability.”

National security adviser Michael Waltz reportedly added Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, by accident to a group chat in the Signal app in which leading officials discussed classified war plans in Yemen and other highly sensitive matters.

The group chat had 18 members total including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and billionaire Steve Witkoff, who is Trump’s envoy to Ukraine and the Middle East.

“None of them apparently bothered to say, ‘Hey, folks, we shouldn’t be talking about this shit in a commercial chat on a commercial app,’” he said. “This is the most negligent handling of highly sensitive information.”

The fact that no one mentioned it, Schiff said, suggests this wasn’t the first time they used the app to discuss sensitive information.

Schiff pointed out that Hegseth “went straight to the lie” by trying to blame Goldberg when asked about the incident.

“This ought to be his resignation,” Schiff said of Hegseth. “I think Tulsi Gabbard should resign. If she can’t be trusted to know better with national security information, she can’t be trusted with the nation’s secrets.”

He also named several others who should be out of a job as a result of the scandal.

“They should be fired or they should quit,” he said.
