‘Google Donald Trump’: Maxwell Frost Hits Back At Fox News Host’s Fumble

Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) checked Fox NewsWill Cain on Monday after the host revealed that he was unfamiliar with a clip of President Donald Trump sharing his hopes to send U.S. citizens to prisons in El Salvador.

“Donald Trump’s made a statement about wanting to deport American citizens? Do you have that in front of you?” Cain asked.

“I’ve not seen that statement. Can you please quote where that comes from – that he would like to deport American citizens?”

Frost — the first Generation Z congressman — noted that Trump made the remarks in the Oval Office. The president was caught on camera earlier this month telling Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele that “homegrowns are next.”

Cain, shaking his head in disapproval, replied, “Do you have anything besides your word on that? I have not seen — I have not seen that so, beyond your word, do you have the source of that?”

Frost hit back, “There is a clip online. I encourage people to just Google ‘Donald Trump homegrown,’ ‘deporting homegrown criminals.’ It was something he said in the Oval Office.”

Cain, who noted that his staff was looking for the clip and pushed the interview ahead, played a different video of Trump later in the program where he claimed he’d like to include “homegrown criminals” in his deportations.

“After years of ‘very fine people,’ among other hoaxes, I’m suspicious of any Democrat quoting President Trump in full context,” Cain stressed.

“And I make no apologies, none, on not being able to know or recall that specific clip because it doesn’t reinforce my fever dream Handmaid’s Tale vision of America.”

Frost and three other Democratic lawmakers who arrived in El Salvador on Monday to push the Trump administration to fall in line with a Supreme Court order to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland father of three imprisoned in a brutal Salvadoran prison.

Frost justified his visit on Fox News by noting that “every person” in America deserves due process before pointing to Trump’s “homegrowns” comment.

He added that he’s received “hundreds” of calls and messages from constituents including immigrants who “see themselves” in the case of Abrego Garcia, who lived in the U.S. for roughly 14 years before his deportation.

“They’re saying, ‘Congressman, do what you can now because it’s him today and it can be one of us tomorrow,’” Frost said.
