Soccer Fans Brutally Boo Trump During The FIFA Club World Cup

President Donald Trump was booed Sunday during the FIFA Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey as he handed trophies to Chelsea, the winning team.

Trump was booed several times throughout the night. First, during the national anthem, he was shown on the Jumbotron, according to USA Today. Then, later, while presenting trophies to the winners. The Club World Cup, the global competition between club teams, is seen as a preview to the World Cup, which will also host its final game at MetLife Stadium next year.

FIFA moved its offices into Trump Tower in New York City, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced last week. It’s just the latest example of the organization building ties with the president before the U.S. hosts the World Cup next year.

Sunday marked the anniversary of the attempted assassination of Trump. During a sit-down interview with his daughter-in-law Lara Trump, Donald Trump reflected on the moment, saying he didn’t know what was going on, but that he got “whacked.”

Vice President JD Vance was also booed this weekend while he and his family vacationed at Disneyland in California. TikTok videos captured Vance and his family walking through the amusement park while onlookers booed. Another video showed the vice president receiving a mixed reaction of boos and applause.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) called out Vance on social media for his vacation while immigrants are being deported.

“Hope you enjoy your family time, [JD Vance]. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t,” Newsom wrote.

Vance responded, “Had a great time, thanks.”
