Boyfriend And Landlord Accused Of Killing Woman Who Told Sister She Was ‘Fearful’

An Arizona woman who was reported missing in March after failing to pick up her dog is now presumed dead, and on Thursday, authorities charged her landlord and boyfriend with killing her.

Cavett Jack Richards, 36, and William Thomas DalCerro, 58, were charged with second degree murder, concealment of a dead body and conspiracy in the death of Shayna Feinman, 35, who vanished from the Hyde Park area on March 8, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Feinman’s sister, Kara Feinman, identified Richards as her sister’s live-in boyfriend and DalCerro as the couple’s landlord in an April interview with Phoenix-based TV collective Arizona’s Family. She said the two men were the last to see her sister alive.

A neighbor who was taking care of Feinman’s dog reported her missing on March 18, after she failed to retrieve the pet, according to the sheriff’s office. The concerned neighbor searched for her, but only found her car, along with her wallet and ID, close to her home.

A witness who lives on the same property as Feinman and helped file the missing person report told Arizona’s Family she heard an argument between Feinman and their property manager on the night of her disappearance.

“They were yelling and screaming at each other. He’s like, ‘You have to leave. I’m calling the sheriff.’ She’s like, ‘I need to get my phone and keys,’” the witness said.

Kara Feinman showed messages she exchanged with Shayna to local NBC affiliate KPNX in the days leading up to her disappearance, in which Shayna expressed concerns for her safety.

“On more than one occasion, she shares about feeling fearful and not feeling safe,” Kara Feinman told KPNX. “And it’s really hard to read those things because if I had known how unsafe and how scared she was at any of those times, I feel like I would have been there.”

While detectives looked for Fineman, they found evidence that Richards and DalCerro had committed other crimes, according to the press release.

DalCerro and Richards were arrested in mid-April on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and tampering with evidence, according to court records reviewed by HuffPost. DalCerro also allegedly had a weapon illegally.

The two men have remained in the Yavapai County Detention Center since their arrests in April, the press release said. Detectives have now gathered enough evidence to charge them with Feinman’s killing.

Feinman’s body has not been located, but authorities are asking the public to report anything suspicious “in the desert or forests area in west-central California across through Arizona.”
